Introducing Bite My Idea & Free Wi-Fi in Flight

I forgot to take a picture of myself writing this post in flight. Thanks to Bekathwia, this will do.

Last summer, I launched a new website called BiteMyIdea.com – a creative canvas for marketing and product ideas that randomly cross my mind but know would never be brought to fruition considering I’d have to either a. Work on product development for the company to gain consideration or b. Work at an agency to pitch the idea to the company.  In light of full transparency (this is a Creative Commons work in progress here), I decided to make public of my ideas for your entertainment or for companies to use.  Better that I have my idea realized at all and at my cost than not at all.  Additionally, I’ve decided to retire the unique site and use this blog as the primary channel.

Some of you may think I’m crazy for publicizing my ideas for free.  Perhaps I can be a little too liberal at times but it’s really just fun for me to jot the ideas fun for you to read, comment, agree, criticize, etc.  So here’s goes the first idea that I’d like to share, as I am flying back to Seattle (from Oakland) from 10,000 feet high and wishing I had access to my WordPress account so that I can publish this blog in real-time. Pump Down the Noise



I would have a heart attack if my desk looked liked this. But I’m pretty sure the desk in my brain does.

As a digital media nerd, I have no problem managing a billion different accounts on the Internet.  From social networking sites to bank accounts, I’ve accumulated about 30-40 different logins from the past 5 years.  I’m definitely not a pack rat by any means, but I’m starting to feel like I have too much junk in my (digital) trunk.

Just like my spring cleaning thought process, I tried to justify the need for my online “memberships”.  I tried to comprehend my new pack rat status by slicing and dicing the facts.  Why is it that I am able to throw away material items that I don’t need, but I don’t mind hoarding digital goods?

The Victorian Internet

 

Analogies are one of the best ways to help describe a story, event, or situation through a different limelight.  I like using analogies because who will witness a review can be inevitable, and analogies can be left to the audience to interpret in their own way.  The best way to evaluate The Victorian Internet is to compare the contents of the book with life.  Resembling life, The Victorian Internet revealed the telegraph journey as a rollercoaster path of events.  While there were many triumphs over innovative success, there were also many moments of disappointment and failure.  The organization of the book truly enables to author to capture the strenuous and revolutionary path that has led to where communication stands today.
