ABOUT

// HELLO, MY NAME IS ANNIE.
I am a marketing and advertising professional by day; blogger by night. Can’t live without art, sarcasm, chapstick, football, and sushi. I am Korean American, making things happen one day at a time.
I am passionate about the online industry, and enjoy following the path of digital marketing, social media, and all things art. I try to avoid labeling myself as an “expert”, rather I throw myself into projects to think about innovative ways to effectively leverage web 2.0 resources.
// WORK, WORK, WORK (MY LIFE SINCE I WAS 15)
During the day, I work my creativity in the world of Microsoft Advertising as a Marketing Communications Manager focusing on display advertising products for small to medium businesses. Since 2005, I’ve experienced various roles at Microsoft, which include technical account management, optimizing search engine marketing campaigns, and project management. My first job? Hot Dog On A Stick (and I have pictures to prove it).
// I LIVE TO LEARN.
My alma maters belong to schools in Seattle, where I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing at Seattle University after a small stint as a Graphic Design major. The University of Washington’s Master of Communication in Digital Media program is where I developed my blog as a class requirement. I accumulated tons of content about all things digital, and decided to weed out the junk and organize the rest.
// MY MOTTO IS, WORK HARD
While I did not formalize my background in arts, I try to dust off my paintbrush for personal ventures and enjoy stretching my entrepreneurial spirit through consulting for local startups. In 2009, I entered a social media contest best known as “A Really Goode Job” created by Murphy Goode Winery. Although I couldn’t snag the world’s greatest job as featured by Mashable and New York Times, I made it to Top 10 and met some quality people who I now consider “goode” friends.
// AND PLAY HARD.
In my free time, you can find me traveling to places I’ve never been, racking up miles on my running shoes, spending too much money on camera equipment, and challenging my palette for new Yelp entries.
Once in a blue moon, you can find me painting or performing at a coffeehouse – but this might be an urban legend.

Annie, It was great working with you and Tim. You are a rocking interviewer. Tim was great too. He is trying to tell me I slammed dunked my interview with Jeff. He should have the media out there sometime in the next few days.

I like the fact that you present an alternate view instead of just painting the “social media is a goldmine” picture. It does take work and just setting up one’s presence in FB or Twitter or creating a blog is not enough. Great idea to have the feedback page also.
