A Pinteresting Transition

Proud to be a Husky, Redhawk, Microsoftie, and Amazonian. I will miss you Seattle!

Friends, I am excited to share exciting news with you all. After over ten years in this beautiful Emerald City, I am making a transition down south to our sister city of the West. San Francisco :)

Today marks a bittersweet last day at Amazon, a chapter that has gifted me relationships with some of the smartest and hard-working colleagues I’ve ever worked with. Amazon truly nourishes a respectful culture with strong values, and first-hand experience of all that is retail. Continue Reading…

Fresh Rhubarb Jam

Marla is an old high school friend who enjoys to cook and offers her culinary voice as a guest on Social // Potato Chips!

Aloha everyone!  I’m Marla and I’m honored to be guest blogging for Annie!  I met Annie in high school over 15 years ago when she sat behind me in geometry class.  I still remember the day when I turned around and there was this girl who had just moved into town, who said “Hi, I’m Annie!” complete with a big cheerful smile and pigtails.  She soon became my “little sister” and I’m so happy that we are still friends even after all these years.

Recently, I have had this urge to learn how to make homemade goods in the kitchen, with jam being one of them.  Growing up, jam was a staple in my household; my parents ate toast every single day for the 18 years I lived at home and still do to this day (I honestly find this amazing-I don’t know how they do it).  Continue Reading…

Homemade Yam Gnocchi With Kale and Bacon

Anything homemade is much more satisfying, especially pasta!

Yesterday, I celebrated my 29th birthday, which commences the last year of my twenties. I took some time to think back over the past decade, and the one thing that stands out the most is how blessed I am to have met such amazing people over the years. I am very thankful to have friends from far and wide and the love was definitely felt on this special day. To show my gratitude, I’d like to share one of my favorite recipes from a recent experiment.

Gnocchi is an Italian comfort food with a chewy texture that can be made from various starch ingredients such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, or yam. My friends and I got inspiration from Caramel Cook, a mutual friend who also blogs about food. Continue Reading…

Put Your Head Into It

Bad hair day? No problem.

I’m totally jealous of how perfectly the scarf is wrapped on her head. My odd shaped head refuses to oblige, but I’m determined to make it work. Helloooo, bobby pins!

Garlic Arugula Grilled Cheese

This is what you’ve been waiting for.

The sun is out and blazing in Seattle, which means I will be outdoors in a hot minute.  I’ve been cooking up a storm this past week, mostly because I still had leftover arugula from the breakfast and chicken wraps.  Well friends, when you have nothing to eat and one measly ingredient leftover, you pair it with garlic and BAM—you have yourself a savory candidate for grilled cheese sandwich. Green Breakfast Wrap

Breakfast. The most important meal of your day.

Happy Cinco de Mayo weekend, friends!

After a fun Friday night reconnecting with old Microsoft friends, I woke up this morning ravenous.  Looking in my fridge, I realized there were only leftover ingredients from this recipe and a carton of eggs, so I decided to whip up a last minute breakfast recipe.

Recycling your ingredients is a green way to avoid food waste.  I try to make a habit of using everything in my fridge to help make every dollar go an extra meal and you don’t have to feel guilty for being wasteful. Continue Reading…

Low Hanging Nook

This makes me want to crawl in with a book and wander off to Narnia.

Vacation is over. I’m rejuvenated, tired, happy, thankful, blessed, and my pants don’t fit. Clearly, it was a success.

Chicken or Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Easy, cheap, and healthy. A perfect meal for a busy week!

Hi! I’m still on vacation. But I haven’t forgotten about you.

The past few days have been a happy whirlwind. One of my very dearest friends from college got married on Saturday. The ceremony was held the Mission Church at Santa Clara University (fellow Jesuit education, FTW!), followed by a beautiful reception at the Palmdale Estates. The bride’s impeccable taste was sprinkled throughout the day, which was almost a living replica of a Pinterest feed.

We finished off the weekend with a fun 8-mile bike ride to Sausalito, SF’s best ramen at Katana-Ya, and the most amazing crab pappardelle dish at Hudson. Now we are heading south for more wedding extravaganza and the happiest place on Earth. But in the meantime, hope you enjoy this simple recipe to get you through the week! Continue Reading…
